This information is here to help you better understand what our guild is about. The 'Guild Laws' section is for our guild members and for those with an interest in our guild.
This is a magic user guild, magic users are preferred and are the only ones who can hold administrative ranks, but other classes are accepted. The two classes are the councilmen (the administrators) and the Commoners. The lowest level councilman is higher in rank than the highest level commoner, the Grand Overseer, (although the Grand Overseer is a position worthy of high respect). There is only one High Lord of Elements, one Lord of Elements, and one Grand Overseer; the other ranks may have more than one representative.
The councilmen constitute the administrative body of the guild. They form a democratic body that decides by vote the laws that govern the guild and the actions that will be taken by the guild. Council meetings are held by council members only, with the exception of the Grand Overseer, who passes the will of the council down into the commoner ranks.
Rule in the council is by majority vote; the High Lord of Elements holds the power of veto (veto pertains to the enactment of new law in the guild; all other decisions are by majority vote), and the power to break ties. The High Lord of Elements calls council meetings to order, decides their agenda and adjourns those meetings.
In times of battle and emergency, rule is from the top down with no room for dispute; disobeying orders is grounds for immediate dismissal from the guild, whether in peace or wartime.
Members must obey orders from higher command posts first, unless permission is given to lower commanders to take control. In times of doubt Members should do what is best for the guild. If a Member commits treason, his/her orders must NOT be followed. He/she should be reported to the council immediately. If such is not possible, he/she should be suspended from the guild at once, until the council has been notified and decides their fate. They shall be treated with respect until judgment is passed. Any misuse of the above rule will lead to severe punishment.
Loyalty is to your superiors, the High Lord and to the guild above all else.
